Are you nearing your Pilates Plateau? Maybe you do not see the results as you once did. You’re not feeling that good – I did Pilates yesterday- soreness. Or perhaps you’re bored. Your workout feels more like a routine than a challenge.
You’re on the mat one day, inhaling for five, exhaling for five. Your head is lifted, and your neck feels good. Your legs are lifted, and your back feels good. From shoulder down to your fingertips, your arms are working as you pump.
Your core is fully engaged, but you’re bored with counting to 100.
If your mat workouts aren’t giving you the challenge they once did, it may be time to incorporate a circle.
This powerful little ring increases body awareness, creates a more profound strength, and improves alignment and posture when incorporated into mat class exercises. When you press the circle, it presses right back. This means that the circle meets you at your strength level and asks for more.
But even more than that resistance, the circle makes our body work in a way few other fitness props or tools do. Depending on its position, when we put pressure on the circle, it challenges the equilibrium of our body. As a result, our body tries to address balance and our core activities to facilitate this readjustment in balance.
We incorporate the circle into our mat routine for a dynamic mat workout in this popular course.
